Remnants of cleaning products are everywhere in our homes and offices: on dishes, countertops, furniture, clothes, floors, and floating through the air. In our war on dirt and germs we may often actually be making things worse. Did you know that spray cleaners can remain in the air in your home for around 12 hours? This can contribute to respiratory infections, antagonize allergies and irritate your sinuses.
Most of the standard cleaning products that have been used since the 50's are petroleum-based and are quite toxic both to us and the environment. Instead of opting for cleaning products that destroy everything in their path, there are plenty of natural products and methods to keep a house clean and fresh-smelling without the toxic side effects.
As the health and environmental impacts of conventional cleaning products become more thoroughly understood, more and more brands of healthy, green and effective cleaning products have started hitting the market. Many of these products are non-toxic, biodegradable, and made from renewable resources (not petroleum).

My experience with method's products have been very positive. Their staff is very accommodating and informative. I love Method for a couple of reasons: 1) they're very innovative with products that are very effective and 2) they know how to catch your eye! These containers they use look very artistic and are recyclable of course, but really reach out and ask you to pick them up.
Pink Grapefruit ultra concentrated dish soap - The first product I evaluated (mainly because I had a sink full of dishes that I was procrastinating to wash) was their Pink Grapefruit ultra concentrated dish soap. The skinny on this ultra concentrated dish soap is that it smells nice, and is well pretty concentrated. I took the brillow sponge and drew a little X with the soap like I usually do with any other dish soap I use and I was able to clean and entire sink full of dishes by hand without needing more soap. I even washed down the counter and the sink after and there were still plenty of suds. That's more than I can save for Palmolive! Also, I usually have to use gobs of lotion after doing the dishes with Palmolive because of all the detergents but my hands were totally fine (aside from the obvious water wrinkles) and I didn't even need to lotion my hands after. Nice.
The second product I tested was the French Lavender all purpose surface cleaner - When I went to smell the cleaner it literally was like plucking a branch of lavender and wafting it in front of my nose. Love it. Now for the second part: I used the cleaner on the top of my stove and counter top in my kitchen as well as my bathroom. It left no residue and cleaned quite well. I love the fact that I can clean without wincing at breathing in any chemicals. I wonder if they have it in an orange scent. Yum!
Epic - Environmental Products for Important Causes
I am pleased with Epic's slogan of Live long + Clean Strong + Support your Community. Their products are economical and Noelle Morris was great to work with (and is also the President).
Orange Cleaner + Degreaser

My Favorite product was their Orange Degreaser. It's super concentrated and a single bottle makes 32 Quarts! I especially appreciate this product because it is very difficult to find a degreaser that is not toxic. It cleaned my kitchen stove and microwave very well and I even used it to clean my shoes and kithen cabinets and backsplash to get any grease splatter.
The second product I tested was the Oxy Kitchen + Bath Scrub - it is very usefull as a replacement for Ajax and is not abrasive so it can be used on any hard surface that is suseptible to scratches. It smells great and it noticably whitened areas where it was used!
